Why you need the 81 Hour NY State license prep course
To engage in the business of installing, servicing or maintaining security or fire alarm systems" means and refers to a person who holds himself out directly or indirectly, as being able, or who offers or undertakes, by any means or method, to install, service or maintain a security or fire alarm system to detect intrusion, break-in, movement, sound or fire. It is the responsibility of licensees to understand the Business of Installing, Servicing or Maintaining Security or Fire Alarm Systems License Law License Law.
Installations: Standards, Codes, & Techniques
Wiring methods, mounting, grounding, and the national and NY State code requirements every installer must follow.
Control Panels & Alarm Signal Transmission
Control panel operation, signal paths, communication technologies, and how alarm data is transmitted reliably to central stations.
Security Systems
Access control, intrusion detection, sensors, and integrating components into a complete security installation.
Fire Systems
Detection devices, notification appliances, fire alarm control panels, and the fundamentals of fire system design.
Servicing, Maintaining, & Testing of Alarm Systems

Why you need the 81 Hour NY State license prep course
In this course, students will learn about: the installations: standards, codes and techniques; control panels and alarm transmissions; security systems; and fire technology. The course helps prepare the student for the Security or Fire Alarms System Installer Exam.
Per NYS, individuals with a criminal background may be ineligible to obtain a NYS Security & Fire Alarm Installer License. Inquire with NYS Dept. of State Division of Licensing for additional information.
